Dede O’Shea, Ph.D.
Psychologist
I’m Dr. Dede O’Shea, the founder of Brain and Mind Consulting. Based in the Boston area, I’m a licensed psychologist and clinical faculty member at Tufts University. My expertise is in how the health of the brain and mind affect how we best live, get work done, and create positive relationships. Much of my work focuses on evaluation and evidence-based psychotherapy for people with concerns about emotional stress, attention, memory, concussions and brain function, and I have published multiple research and educational articles in these areas.
After completing undergraduate studies in psychology and neuroscience at Princeton, I went on to obtain my doctorate degree in clinical and research psychology at Penn State and then completed a neuropsychology fellowship at UCLA. As a professional neuropsychologist, I’ve served on national committees, including with the National Academy of Neuropsychology, Society for Clinical Neuropsychology, and Society for Black Neuropsychology.
In my work in clinics to academic medical centers, I have many people approaching me, and they are often motivated and knowledgeable in certain areas but in need of more resources and support about brain and mental health, emotional trauma, career, and relationship issues. I also work with professionals and organizations on these areas. Brain and Mind Consulting is a space to enhance health, knowledge, and achievement.
